RESOURCES
These are various links and books I have found useful at various times
Disclaimer: I am not fully endorsing any of the resources listed below.
They all have their usefulness and perhaps times when they are not useful.
Pick and choose based on what fits for you.

Nervous system Education
Irene Lyon has a large amount of videos available online that go fairly in depth.
Peter Levine is someone you can look into. He is the founder of Somatic Experiencing
There are various takes on the nervous system and how it relates to healing. At this point a lot of how I work is built on experience. I believe it islisa often useful for folks to have a framework and I attempt to keep as current as I can with the science, while being an artist at heart.
Resourcing + Regulating Supports
Support for panic attack - watch outside of panic attack, it may or may not resonate.
Merete Brantbjerg - this work has been one of my greatest influences of my career. She speaks a lot about hypo states; the parts of ourselves that are underworking and need support. She has various videos and podcasts that you can search out.
Tara Brach is a buddhist psychologist with an awareness of the somatic body who has so many meditations (which support regulation and resourcing) and talks available.
Peter Levine goes through 2 ways of regulating here.
Irene Lyon has a great video about anger. It is tied to parenting but could be useful in a variety of situations.
My version of RAIN (recognize, allow, investigate, nourish) + Orienting
Books
Peter Levine: In an Unspoken Voice
Kathy Kain has great resources including "Nurturing Resilience"
Gabor Mate: When the body says no
Tara Brach: Radical Acceptance
Resmaa Menakem: Racialized Trauma and the Path to Mending our Hearts and Bodies
Say Goodnight to Insomnia: The Six-Week, Drug-Free Program Developed At Harvard Medical School
Alan Gordon + Alon Ziv: The Way Out: a revolutionary, scientifically proven approach to healing chronic pain (a great book for anyone doing somatic work as it has a really clear layout of the process)
Parenting
Gordon Neufeld has a lot of online courses based in attachment which I feel has a good basis in how the nervous system works.
Daniel Siegel: The Whole Brain Child
Dr. Becky: Good Inside presents a non-shaming model of parenting that also encourages the building of the "window of tolerance" so we can feel confident and able to feel our emotions.
